FARMHOUSE

Designed by Mott B Schmidt in 1917; Farmhouse is situated within Meadowspring, a development of classically designed homes constructed in the early part of the twentieth century. The existing home was longing for a rejuvenation and its current owners were up to the task. Close collaboration between Schneider Architectural Works and the owners was required to create spaces that would best suit their family, while honoring the home's architectural lineage. The beautiful brick exterior walls and slate roof were restored; while its fenestration was upgraded with historically accurate windows and doors. Inside; new floors and wall coverings were incorporated, allowing the owner’s personality to come through. Upgrades to the homes building systems will allow Farmhouse to be enjoyed by the family for another hundred years. The renovation culminated with the hosting of Preservation Long Island's 75th Diamond Anniversary Benefit.
